Frankly, I have never been a cat person. I have always preferred dogs, especially labradors and golden retrievers, for one main reason: cat litter boxes. They smell, they are a pain in the neck (and back!) to clean out, and, especially if you have more than one cat, you find yourself having to clean them constantly. A few years ago I took care of my grandparents’ siamese cat “Shogun” while they were out of town – I was completely disgusted by having to change the kitty litter, and the need to bend down was rough on my back. How on Earth did my grandparents do this every day?
Thanks to two new innovations, people like me who find litterboxes a reason to never own a cat can now consider the idea. Two automatic, self cleaning kitty litter boxes take away the hassle and odor of dealing with your cat’s litter box. Almost completely different in functionality and price, the CatGenie Self-Flushing, Self-Washing Cat Box and the Scoop Free Automatic Self Cleaning Litter Box make any cat owner’s life easier. You can read more about them in the article titled “Two New Innovations Eliminate the Hassle of Cleaning Cat Litter Boxes and the Odor of Kitty Litter”. Even though my grandparents’ cat has since passed away, and they have no intention of getting another one, they both agree that they would buy one of these products in a heartbeat if they did.

Anyways, our CEO has three cats so she took home the Scoop Free Automatic Litter Box. She and her family absolutely love it. She said, “Before, it seemed like we were constantly have to scoop the litter or change it. With this device we only have to do it once every ten days or so.”

So, even though I am still a dog person, these two products at least make me consider the idea of getting a cat. When you consider the time spent cleaning up after a cat, the cost of the two products is completely justifiable, especially for anyone who has more than one cat. My father and his wife have four cats, so I will definitely be sending them one of these automatic cat litter boxes this year for Christmas.
Shhhh… don’t tell them.
