An article was posted on MSNBC.com that talks about a two year study by the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands that recently came to an end. The study concluded, based on a closely controlled test of 222 subjects, that glucosamine has no meaningful effect on the pain or function of hip arthritis. The report also commented that, despite numerous studies, there is no definitive evidence that glucosamine helps at all.
So for those who consistently take glucosamine for that reason, this may certainly change their perception. But this report leaves one question unanswered: what does help with hip arthritis pain? Naturally everyone knows that pain killers help, but the human body builds up resistance to painkillers over time. So, besides painkillers, what helps with hip arthritis pain?
Hip arthritis sufferers can find relief from an assortment of products that require very little change to their everyday lifestyle, but reduce the strain on their hip joints. From far infrared heat therapy to lift chairs, a review of the products is available here: Hip Arthritis Pain Relief Products.
